Losing huge swathes of green space, like Elton Reservoir, to massive housing developments would have a devastating impact on wildlife, air pollution and local services.
It means more traffic on our roads, more pressure on school places, and more people scrambling for GP appointments. Throughout lockdown from the Coronavirus our parks and green spaces have become more important than ever. It’s been one of the few places local residents have had to enjoy the fresh air, get their daily exercise and improve mental health.
The Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham’s housebuilding plan will see green spaces concreted over, and it’s being put forward again. We want to hear your views.
Under the plan we’d see 3,500 houses built at Elton Reservoir, decimating a beautiful landscape that generations of local people have cherished.
The Mayor’s housebuilding plan is coming before Bury Council soon. This your opportunity to have your say and share your views, so we can make a stronger case to the Council.
